There are lots of blogs on retrieval practice. There are lots blogs on cognitive load, student behaviour, assessment, marking, curriculum, philosophy…the list goes on. There are lots of blogs on pretty much all aspects of teaching. There are not lots of blogs about homework: how to set it, how to get it right, how to build an effective policy.
Understandably, it’s something we’ve spent a lot of time working on at Carousel, and we’ve summarised our thoughts into four central planks upon which an effective policy rests. As ever, we’ve tried very hard to make the substance of the blog useful for all teachers and leaders, even if they happen to not be Carousel users.
